Instead of just going out with a summer retail offer, 2degrees wanted to provide something genuinely entertaining to keep people happy over the summer holiday. So they challenged the country to ‘Play the Quiz’ and in it’s first 10 days it’s been played over half a million times.
It’s a smart interactive and engaging way to dramatise the retail offer of a great Samsung mobile at a great price, on a great plan, with NEON thrown in for 3 months. Quiz questions were based on the hundreds of movies and shows available on Neon. When you play the quiz you can win data, and if you get onto the leader board you get the chance to compete for the big cash prize of $10,000 at the end of the campaign. Thousands of questions were created by a team of researchers, and are served up on the quiz so that they never repeat for the same player.
You don’t have to be a 2degrees customer the play. The quiz is also an acquisition piece. If you’re on another mobile network the data you win (plus a complimentary bonus) is sent to you on a sim card, so you get to experience the 2degrees network when you use it. And you don’t even have to change your number.
